0870 IS CHANGING
Ofcom has announced changes to 0870 scheduled for Autumn 2008
If you ring an 0870 number the price will drop
If you own an 0870 number you will begin to be billed up to 4.5 pence per minute to receive the call
0845 numbers are expected to change shortly afterwards

Number Translation Services
Many of FP Telekom’s customers opt for our inbound telephony services with 0800, 0844, 0845 or 0870 numbers to give them a real competitive edge.
0800 and 0845 numbers allow customers or employees to call you at no charge (0800) or at a local call rate (0845) with you, the holder of the number, paying all or the remainder of the call charge.
0844 and 0870 numbers mean that your number does not give away your location, and the caller pays a national rate to reach you.
These call types are called Number Translation Services, as the network follows pre-set rules before translating the number into a geographic number for delivery. All sizes of business in the UK currently benefit from such non-geographic numbers.
